Where To Eat Outdoors On Martha’s Vineyard

Summer 2020 is here and Martha’s Vineyard is welcoming guests back to the island for what will be a different and no doubt quieter summer than normal due to COVID-19.

Many of the islands restaurants are adapting and making use of their outdoor space to expand and enhance the outdoor eating experience for guests to allow for more comfort and healthy, fresh air dining.

Here are some that are already set up to provide a beautiful dining experience with exceptional local food served to you in an outdoor setting  providing a perfect Martha’s Vineyard romantic evening.

  • Garde East – Opening 17th June. Outdoor dining on the deck directly on the water in Vineyard Haven. The best waterfront dining on the island. They also provide the island’s best picnic baskets!
  • Detente – Opening 18th June for outdoor dining on their patio in Edgartown.
  • Atlantic – On the harbor in Edgartown and opening 12th June. Their tomato soup is a locals’ insider tip.
  • Salvatore’s – Italian restaurant in Vineyard Haven with courtyard dining. Best Italian food on Martha’s Vineyard. Also serves mouth-watering paninis at lunch. Steps from the ferry terminal.
  • Nancy’s – Casual dining on the marina in Oak Bluffs
  • Lookout Tavern – Close to the water in Oak Bluffs and opening for outdoor dining 8th June. Great sushi.
  • Outermost Inn – It doesn’t get any more romantic than dinner with a sunset up in Aquinnah. Restaurant open for outdoor dining 19th June
  • Terrace at the Charlotte Inn – Garden dining is available at this Relaix & Chateau restaurant, where executive chef Patrice Martineau is now in residence. Open from 16th June.
  • Net Result – Eat the freshest of local seafood on one of their picnic benches at their Vineyard Haven location.
  • Dunes – Outdoor dining at Winnetu Beach at South Beach
